History
Our story began in 1883, when the Senate of Finland confirmed the articles of association for a group called Kuopio Telefonaktiebolag.
Over the decades, what started as a builder of telephone connections has steadily evolved. Today we are a builder of vitality and business drive, and we have evolved into a reputable Finnish investment company.
Profitable ownership
The interest paid by KPY on shareholdings constitutes taxable income for individual members subject to a 7.5% withholding tax up to EUR 5000.
Amounts exceeding this limit are subject to a 25.5% withholding tax. For corporate members, such as limited liability companies, the interest paid on cooperative shares is normally tax-exempt.
